What is the "Made in Framer" badge?

When you publish a Framer site on the free plan without a custom domain, Framer adds a small "Made in Framer" badge to your site. It's Framer's way of getting visibility from free users.

For personal experiments or test sites it doesn't matter. For a client site or a professional project, you'll want it gone.

How to remove it

There's no toggle or setting to turn off the badge manually. It disappears automatically when you do one of two things:

Option 1 โ€” Upgrade to a paid plan Any paid Framer plan (Basic, Pro, or Scale) removes the badge.

Option 2 โ€” Connect a custom domain Connecting your own domain also removes the badge. Custom domain requires a paid plan anyway, so this comes together automatically.

After upgrading or connecting a domain โ€” click Update to republish your site. The badge won't disappear until you republish.

Step by step

  1. Upgrade your Framer site to a paid plan (Site Settings โ†’ Plans)

  2. Optionally connect your custom domain (Site Settings โ†’ Domains)

  3. Click Update in the top right corner to republish

  4. Badge is gone

That's it. No code, no workarounds.

Do I need a paid plan just to remove the badge?

Yes. There's no way to remove the badge on the free plan. If budget is a concern, the Basic plan from $10 a month on annual billing is the cheapest option. It includes a custom domain and removes the badge.

For a full breakdown of what each plan includes, see How Much Does Framer Cost?

FAQ

  • Can I remove the badge on the free plan? No. There is no toggle or workaround. The badge is tied to the plan, and only a paid plan removes it.

  • Does connecting a custom domain remove the badge by itself? A custom domain already requires a paid site plan, so in practice the two come together. Once the site is on a paid plan and republished, the badge is gone.

  • Will the badge come back if I downgrade? Yes. If the site drops back to the free plan, the badge returns the next time it publishes.

  • What's the cheapest way to get rid of it? The Basic plan at $10 a month on annual billing. The full pricing breakdown covers what a real site costs beyond that.

  • Does the template I use matter? No. The badge comes from your Framer plan, not the template. Any template, free or paid, publishes without the badge on a paid plan.

Building a site in Framer?

Start with a template and skip the blank canvas. Browse TMPL Framer templates.

If you're still deciding, start with a free template. Eleven of the sixteen templates at TMPL are free, full versions with all pages and CMS included: Foldex for a portfolio, Wellbe for coaching, Sellio for a digital product site, and the rest are in the catalog. The badge question stays the same either way: it's about your plan, not your template.
