Are Framer Templates Good?

Short answer: yes — and here's why they stand out from templates on other platforms.

Why Framer templates are among the best on the market

Framer has one of the strictest review processes of any template marketplace. Getting a template accepted isn't straightforward — the design bar is high, and the Framer team rejects submissions that don't meet their standards. The result is that most of what you see on the Framer Marketplace is genuinely well-designed.

Most professional web designers work in Framer today. That means the people building templates are the same people building high-end client sites. The quality shows.

Newer templates are better

This is something most buyers don't know: Framer has significantly raised its requirements over the past couple of years. Templates submitted recently go through much stricter review than those from 2023 or 2024.

If you're browsing the Marketplace, pay attention to the publish date. A template released in 2025 or 2026 will almost always be higher quality — more refined layouts, better responsive behavior, cleaner code — than one from a few years ago.

What to look for before buying

If a template is on the Framer Marketplace, it's passed the quality bar. The question isn't whether it's good — it's whether it's right for your project.

A few things worth checking:

  • Number of pages — does it include everything your site needs, or will you be building pages from scratch?

  • CMS collections — if you need a blog, portfolio, or any dynamic content, make sure the template includes the right CMS structure.

  • Live preview — always click through the live preview before buying. Screenshots are polished; the preview shows you how it actually feels to use.

  • Customizability — how easy is it to swap colors, fonts, and layout? A good template should feel like a starting point, not a constraint.

  • When it was published — newer is generally better given how Framer's standards have evolved.

What about templates outside the Marketplace?

Some creators sell templates directly from their own sites — and these can be just as good, sometimes better. Independent stores often have templates that didn't make the Marketplace cut for reasons unrelated to quality (category saturation, timing), plus things like bundle deals and All Access passes you won't find on the official Marketplace.

The same checklist applies: check the live preview, the page count, CMS structure, and when it was made.
